To help you kick your New Year off to a happy and healthy start, I'd like to share a few of my top health tips with you today.
4 Health Tips:
1) Drink Water!
It's so simple, and yet so many people overlook the importance of staying hydrated. Stay away from bottled water as the chemicals that are leached form the plastic are proven to cause cancer. Also, try to stay away from soda and flavored, sugary drinks, which can actually dehydrate you.
Remember: To stay hydrated, you should be drinking half of your body weight, in ounces every day. So if you weigh 100 lbs, you should be drinking 50 ounces of water a day.
Tip: to improve absorption of water into your cells, you should take a 1/4 tsp of salt for every quart of water you drink. This will create the electrolytes your body needs to preform. (NOTE: when we say salt, we mean unrefined natural salts such as RealSalt, Himalayan or Sea Salt.
2) Take Vitamins!
I take vitamins daily that help boost my immune system. Our food supply does not provide our bodies with the essential nutrients that it once did so it is critical to supplement your diet with a high quality vitamin. It's important to find vitamins that are right for you - so I encourage you to take some time to find what kind of supplements are best for your particular body type. Try to choose all natural supplements and avoid generic and over the counter vitamins as most will not break down in your system. Find organic or liquid supplements that are readily absorbed into the body.
3) Exercise!
Go on a brisk walk, take a fitness class or meet with a personal trainer. Exercising can be much easier if you have an accountability partner to work out with. Even simple things like walking or biking instead of driving somewhere can help improve your health. Or you can choose to take the stairs instead of the elevator. Every little bit counts :)
4) Think & Be Positive!
Just like water, your thoughts and attitude are often overlooked. It's important to have a positive attitude towards yourself, health, body image and honestly, everything. Having a good attitude will raise your vibration, which in turn will naturally motivate you to WANT to do the things above.
In addition, it'll attract positive people and resources to you. One of my favorite quotes from The Secret star, Mike Dooley, is this: "Thoughts become things." I love it because I think it's so true! If you think thoughts like "I enjoy going on my daily walk," instead of "I hate walking," then you'll enjoy and look forward to your walk (or whatever type of exercise you do). And who knows, the Universe just might reward you for being so upbeat!
I challenge you to accomplish 1, if not all 4 of these things today. Go for it! You can do it :)

Please be respectful to others who post. Everyone has an opinion and it is based upon what they know to be true at this time. If you want to convince them of your point, then try to see things from their point of view. you may find that you are the one whose ideas were flawed. It happens, and it is easier to admit you were wrong if you don't always think you are right. That being said, we welcome open discussions of the ideas presented in this blog.
